EDGEWATER PARK--Over 300 varsity athletes were honored by Riverside High School at its annual awards banquet Wednesday night with several varsity baseball players receiving awards and Burlington County Scholastic League (BCSL) honors.

Senior Mike Wasco celebrated his birthday with team Most Valuable Player honors with fellow seniors Zach Schultice and Dave Kinney each awarded the baseball coaches award for 2008.  Wasco was also awarded the coaches award for basketball with senior Tony Caruso awarded Most Valuable Player honors for basketball.  Caruso was also honored for football with the coaches award and junior Don Strain was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player for football.

Wasco was one of four baseball players recognized as a Joe France Distinguished Athlete honoree.  Wasco earned two varsity letters in basketball (2007, 2008) and three in baseball (2006, 2007, 2008).  Also recognized were Zach Schultice (Football, 2008; Wrestling, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008; Baseball 2007, 2008), Dave Kinney (Soccer 2006, 2007, 2008; Baseball 2006, 2007, 2008) along with Tony Caruso (Football 2006, 2007, 2008; Basketball 2006, 2007, 2008; Baseball 2006, 2007, 2008).

Wasco and Schultice were recently recognized by the Burlington County Scholastic League (BCSL) with first team Freedom Division honors in baseball with Caruso and freshman Tim Borek earning second team BCSL Freedom Division honors.  Caruso earned BCSL Freedom Division first team honors in both football and basketball and was a Burlington County Times Player of the Week in basketball with Schultice earning BCSL Freedom Division second team honors in wrestling.  Other honorees from the baseball team in other sports included Dave Kinney who earned BCSL Freedom Division second team honors in soccer, junior Marc Mount who earned BCSL Freedom Division first team honors in football, Don Strain who earned BCSL Freedom Division first team honors in football and juniors Alex Chotalal and Mike Grill who each were awarded second team BCSL Freedom Division honors in football.  Sophomore Dillon O'Neal was awarded BCSL Freedom Division second team honors in wrestling.

Other honorees who earned varsity letters in baseball included junior Matt Chilcott, junior Nick Cimorelli, junior Zach "Elf" Horner, junior Kevin Joo, sophomore Dean McFadden, junior Aaron Miller and junior Kevin Moller.

In addition to earning varsity letters in baseball, Dave Kinney and Dean McFadden earned varsity letters in soccer with McFadden earning a JV letter in basketball, Aaron Miller earned a JV letter in soccer, Tony Caruso earned a varsity letters in football and basketball, Matt Chilcott earned a varsity letter in football, Alex Chotalal earned a varsity letter in football, Mike Grill earned a varsity letter in football and a JV letter in basketball, Marc Mount earned varsity letters in football and wrestling, Zach Schultice earned varsity letters in football and wrestling, Don Strain earned a varsity letter in football, Dillon O'Neal earned a varsity letter in wrestling, Mike Wasco earned a varsity letter in basketball, Tim Borek earned a JV letter in basketball and Kevin Joo earned a JV letter in basketball.

The Rams complete the 2008 season at Waterfront Park in Trenton, New Jersey against Cherry Hill East on Friday, May 30 at 4:00pm.
