Riverside's Wasco named to Burlco Carpenter Cup Squad
Herron/Solomon added to coaching staff

MAPLE SHADE—Senior catcher Mike Wasco of the Riverside varsity baseball team was named to the Burlington County Carpenter Cup squad for 2008 it was announced Thursday.

Wasco, who was named team MVP for Riverside in 2008, batted .536 for the season with 37 hits and 25 runs scored, five doubles and six home runs.  Wasco had a slugging percentage of .870 and an on-base average of .624.  Wasco made only three errors in 121 chances and threw out nine base runners attempting to steal along with two pickoffs.

Wasco is a two-time BCSL Freedom first-team selection after being awarded second-team honors as a sophomore.

Also added to the squad as assistant coaches were Riverside head coach Gary Herron and Ram assistant coach Brian Solomon.

The Burlington County squad will open play on Wednesday, June 11 at 9:00am at the University of Pennsylvania.
