Wasco 2nd team All-Burlington County
WILLINGBORO--A week after receiving
All-South Jersey All Group I first-team honors, Ram senior Mike Wasco was honored with All-Burlington County
second-team honors by The
Burlington County Times it was announced Sunday.
Wasco, the Rams' Most Valuable Player in 2008, batted .536 for the season with 37 hits and 25 runs scored, five doubles and six home runs. Wasco had a slugging percentage of .870 and an on-base average of .624. Wasco made only three errors in 121 chances and threw out nine base runners attempting to steal along with two pickoffs.
Wasco was a member of the Burlington County Carpenter Cup squad that advanced to the quarter-finals of the 23rd annual tournament sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies. Wasco had three hits and five RBI’s in the tournament while throwing out two would be base stealers.
Riverside (11-11, 8-3 BCSL Freedom) advanced to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group I quarter-finals.
