Allentown Redbirds 12  Riverside Rams 1 / 5 innings

ALLENTOWN—Sophomore Tim Borek hit his third home run of the season but is wasn't enough as the Rams made eight errors in a 12-1 non-league loss at Allentown Thursday afternoon at Venet Field.

Seniors Don Strain and Marc Mount each had hits for Riverside (12-11), all in the first inning as the Rams were held without a hit for the final four innings by Thomas Koontz who recorded four strikeouts in the three-hit complete game effort.

Koontz also had two hits and scored twice to pace the offense.

Josh Howell had two hits and three RBI for the Redbirds including an inside the park home run.

Riverside travels to Northern Burlington Regional for a BCSL Intra-Division game Friday before finishing the 2009 season against Pennsauken Tech. on May 31 at Waterfront Park in Trenton, New Jersey.
