High School Varsity Baseball
Riverside's Mount, Strain Honored - South Jersey Group I

CHERRY HILL—Senior infielder Marc Mount and senior outfielder Donnie Strain of the Riverside varsity baseball team were honored by the Camden County Courier Post with South Jersey All-Group I honors it was announced Sunday.

Mount, who was named team MVP for the Rams in 2009, led Riverside in batting average (.425), doubles (7), triples (4), sacrifices (3), slugging percentage (.753), total bases (55) and RBI (39).  Mount will represent the Rams as a member of the Burlington County Carpenter Cup squad.

Strain received the Riverside Coaches Award for baseball and led the Rams in runs scored (34), doubles (7), home runs (4) and total bases (55).  Strain was recently named Second Team All-Burlington County.

Riverside finished the 2009 season 13-11, qualifying for the NJSIAA Group I playoffs for the 16th straight season, all under head coach Gary Herron.
